Qatar is going to be grand host of the FIFA WORLD CUP 2022. Qatar tourism authority (QTA) is planning to invest US$ 17 billion on tourism infrastructure project over the next five years. the World Cup is expected to attract around 500/000 visitors to Qatar and as part of its preparation. Qatar plans to have 90/000 hotel rooms available to accommodate fans, journalists , players, and their families in more than 240 hotel properties. an estimate budget of US$ 260 billion will be spent before the WORLD CUP on infrastructure package includes stadiums , hotels , hotel apartments , public transport systems and roads.
Some new hotels and hotel apartments are slated to open in Qatar this year , dramatically increasing the number of food and accommodation options in the country’s rapidly growing tourism sector. it’s also a fraction of the approximately 80 new hotels and hotel apartments expected to open in the next five years . as the country expands its hospitality offering in advance of the surge of visitors expected during the 2022 WORLD CUP.
